The blade is forged with a technique of stacking layers of steel. The yakiba is crafted with a hand-forged high carbon steel edge and is embedded into a middle carbon steel shinogi. This produces an HRC57 on the edge and an HRC45 on the back. All fittings are brass and the wooden handle is wrapped in genuine rayskin with the traditional Japanese cotton over it.	100% handmade/Laminate steel/silk cord handle wrap/rayskin wrapped handle/clay tempered edge/individually signed/certificate included. This produces an HRC57 on the edge and an HRC45 on the back. All fittings are blackened steel and the wooden handle is wrapped in genuine rayskin and then wrapped with traditional Japanese cotton.	This Tachi has a high carbon steel blade made in the traditional hand-forged manner. The double pinned wooden handle is braided with high quality Japanese cotton over silk brocade. This is a functional katana with a hardened edge and a softer back.
